Quality, registered physiotherapy services

Jenny Clarke (BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy) is a chartered physiotherapist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council, and also registered with, and recognised by, most health insurance companies for over 20 years. Though she specialises in problems relating to muscles, joints and connective tissues, she offers a wide range of treatments for all ages and activity related ailments.

Julia Nell (BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy) is also a chartered physiotherapist registered with the HCPC who joined the team in May 2019. Julia has been qualified for 19 years and also specialises in musculoskeletal issues and currently works within patient’s homes focusing on helping patients with their pain and mobility issues to regain their independence and quality of life.

Daniel Barber (BSc Sports Therapy) has recently joined Saxilby Physiotherapy & Well-being as a degree trained sports therapist with 2 years experience in private practice and football clubs. Dan will be providing specialist sports injury treatment within the clinic for patients with injuries sustained within a sporting scenario and also everyday life injuries. As most private health insurances do not recognise sports therapy as a full medical treatment, such as physiotherapy, be sure your treatment with Daniel will be covered.

Our Ethos

Sadly we hear all too often of physiotherapists (both private and NHS) who are barely touching their patients, whether for assessment or treatment purposes. The patients are coming away with a list of exercises after a very basic assessment and minimal treatment. We pride ourselves on being as thorough and in-depth as possible with both the assessment and treatment of patients’ conditions. We don’t like to just hand out exercises and see you in a month because you are unlikely to be motivated and committed with the exercises and therefore unlikely to improve even if they were the best possible exercises for your condition.

We spend time with our patients assessing thoroughly, explaining the diagnosis, the possible causes for it and the reasons for the suggested treatment, we utilise body charts and 3D models to help patients understand the mechanics of their own body including what has gone wrong. We find this understanding helps build a patient’s sense of responsibility for some of the ‘cure’ and improves their commitment to the changes in habits, posture etc and exercises that we advise.

We then use a wide range of hands-on treatment techniques, along with the exercises, to help resolve the patients’ problem.

Our ethos is there is no point in a superficial quick fix when you could actually clear the cause, not just the symptoms, therefore achieving a long term resolution to the problem.

Health Related Partners

We regularly liaise with the GPs if there is a need for onward referrals to consultants or for further testing such as x-rays or MRI scans.

Although we liaise and work very closely with both GPs and consultants within the NHS, unfortunately, we do not offer NHS funded treatments.
